At the Chemicals Northwest Breakfast Networking event GlaxoSmithKline gave an update to the new plant being built in Ulverston, South West Cumbria.
The building of the £350 million bio-pharmaceutical plant was announced in March 2012. Patent box and falling corporate tax contributed to the decision to build in the UK – GSK’s first new factory here in 40 years. An obvious boost to the region’s economy, construction has started and is likely to take six years.
